Not so healthy All Butter Flapjacks

My father favourites

 
 

Ingredients


300g Rolled oats preferable jumbo

Generous pinch of sea salt

165g butter cut into cubes

100g golden syrup

100g soft light brown sugar

180g dried fruit such as raisins and apricots

50g mixed seeds or chopped nuts


Method

  1. Pre heat oven 180 degrees C

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper (24cm x 34cm)

  3. In a large saucepan gentle heat the butter, golden syrup and sugar until all melted together and there are no more sugar grains. Stir this constantly so nothing begins to burn.

  4. Remove from the heat and add in the oats and sea salt. Mix until combined and all the the oats are evenly coated.

  5. Add your dried fruit and seeds/nuts and mix until combined.

  6. Pour into your prepared baking tray and press down firmly until you have a compact even layer.

  7. Bake for 20 mins until golden brown.

  8. Leave to cool for an hour or two and as it help bind everything together.

  9. Slice as you like!
